Luna Eriqat

Luna was born in 1978, and grew up between Damascus and the West Bank because of the forced migration of her father due to his political activities. She returned to live permanently in the city of Jericho when she was in the middle school in 1993, after the Madrid Agreement. She has been active in the field of youth since 1994, joining the Palestinian Youth Union; she also joined several training courses for the early rehabilitation of the leading cadres of youth with the Ministry of Youth and Sports since 1996. She volunteered as a paramedic in the medical assistance since 1998. Moreover, she worked as a trainer and program designer with a number of organizations.

She obtained her BA degree in Law from Al-Quds University in 2003. Later in 2006, she obtained a diploma of Professional Legal Skills from Birzeit University. She has qualified as a lawyer since 2007. She got the second place in the pleadings of the International Competition of Human Rights which dealt with human rights violations faced by the Jahalin Bedouins. In addition, she worked as a lawyer at Women’s Center for Legal Aid and Counselling. Currently, she is the director of the unity of Press and Publication (Technical Office) in the Palestinian Bar Association. She is also youth rights activist. Moreover, she is a volunteer in several Palestinian Organizations. She participated in various local and international courses and conferences; which had a positive impact in enriching their knowledge and expertise.
