Tajaawob is designed to generate dialogue and facilitate communication between Palestinian citizens and the decision makers responsible for providing public services. The project aims to increase the responsiveness of local authorities towards the needs of their citizens, thereby promoting civic engagement and accountability.
PalVision implements Tajaawob as part of a consortium, including the Coalition for Accountability and Integrity “Aman”, Miftah, the British Council, BBC Media Action and Oxfam GB, funded by the UK Department for International Development (DfID).
The programme works to build the capacity of citizens to advocate for their rights, and runs training in civil participation, citizenship, advocacy campaigning and media. 13 local community representative committees with over 250 members have been established, and taught to use both social and traditional media to communicate with authorities and the wider community.
