Bihimitkom aimed to contribute in empowering young Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) to achieve a positive change through increased participation in decision-making processes that affect their life. The project targeted young PwDs aged 20-29 years from 8 West Bank governorates that include Tulkarem, Qalqilya, Nablus, Jenin, Jerusalem, Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Hebron.
Bhimitkom worked on empowering active young PwDs in CBR programs to play an active role in their communities and influence their young PwDs fellows. The project was implemented by PalVision Organization, supported by Diakonia and funded by Norwegian Association of Disabled (NAD).
Bihimitkom later transformed to be officially an Association specialized in the PwDs causes and issues responding to the urgent need of the PwDs in the Palestinian community. The association focuses on empowering PwDs through building their capacities, train them to advocate for their rights, activate their role in their communities, prepare them for the labor market when needed, implement projects concerned particularly to enhance PwDs condition in the Palestinian community.
