PalVision Signs Agreements with 46 CBOs Launching “Cash for Work” Project

PalVision launched the “Emergency Social Protection COVID response  – Cash for Work” project,  in partnership with the Palestinian Employment Fund and the Ministries of Labor and Finance, and with funding from the World Bank.

The project mainly aims to enhance the resilience of the Palestinians, by securing part-time jobs for the unemployed. It targets those who have lost their jobs due to the COVID19 pandemic and who are facing poor economic living conditions that prevent them from achieving basic living standards.

The Director of the Employment Fund, Mr. Rami Mehdawi, stressed the importance of having this type of projects, as it supports the real steadfastness of the Palestinian citizens, especially for those who have been greatly affected by the pandemic and by virtue of the repeated occupation measures, and he also expressed that he is honored to work on this project with a Jerusalemite organization, as it is important to support Palestinians living in this city and its institutions, in light of the fierce attack of the occupation against institutions working there. He also emphasized the prominent role of PalVision in the success of the project, as it was the developer of the idea of the project.

Mr. Ahmed Yassin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PalVision, said that the organization seeks to continue its work of social, economic, and psychological support for all Palestinians, and stressed that this project is only a starting point for the vision of the organization to support the Palestinian citizens in general and Jerusalemites in particular.

The attendees had the chance to inquire about the project in a Q&A session, and the organization concluded the ceremony with the signing of agreements with 46 community-based organization and local bodies from all across the West Bank and Jerusalem.
