56 Awareness Sessions: A Milestone in Enhancing Early Childhood Care Under the “Numu” Project
As part of the “Numu” project, implemented by the Palestinian Vision Organization in partnership with Save the Children and the Ministry of Social Development, a total of 56 awareness sessions were conducted across nurseries in Jerusalem, Nablus, Hebron, and Bethlehem. These sessions reached approximately 840 parents and caregivers of children in early childhood.
The sessions were the outcome of a specialized training program in which nursery educators participated, aimed at strengthening their knowledge and pedagogical skills in early childhood development. This initiative seeks to enhance the quality of care and services provided to children from birth to the age of three.
The sessions addressed essential and practical topics tailored to family needs, including:

the importance of the first years of a child’s life,

creating a safe and stimulating home environment,

positive communication skills, and
-
supporting healthy development at psychological, social, and motor levels.
This initiative is considered a pioneering experience at the national level, marking the first time that nursery educators were empowered to conduct direct awareness sessions with parents within a comprehensive pedagogical and training framework.
The sessions were met with a highly positive response from families, underscoring the importance of continuing such efforts in the future. These sessions have proven effective in strengthening the relationship between nurseries and families and in supporting children both at home and in educational settings.
