As part of the Education in Emergencies project, Palestinian Vision organized a specialized training on “Intervention Mechanisms to Address the Psychosocial Needs of Children Affected by Conflict” under the Team Up methodology. Team Up focuses on delivering psychosocial support through movement, play, and group-based activities, particularly for children affected by crises and conflict.
The training focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of psychosocial support and rehabilitation services, as well as introducing child referral and case transfer mechanisms. It also equipped facilitators with practical and interactive tools to help children express themselves, feel safe, reduce stress and tension, and regulate their emotions in positive and healthy ways.
A total of 24 facilitators participated in the training, which aimed to enhance their knowledge and skills in implementing play and movement-based psychosocial activities that respond to the needs of children affected by emergencies and conflict.
Following the training, 20 Team Up groups are planned to be implemented, with 8 sessions per group, targeting 400 children through 10 grassroots organizations in the Qalqilya and Salfit governorates.
The facilitators were selected based on an assessment of their performance and skills during group interviews designed as workshop-based sessions. This approach provided participants with space to express themselves and demonstrate their experience, capacities, and practical skills.
This training comes as part of Palestinian Vision’s efforts to strengthen the capacity of grassroots organizations to respond to children’s psychosocial needs in emergency contexts, while providing safe spaces that support children’s recovery, learning, and development.
