Established in 2013 in Al-Jiftlik, Jericho Governorate, the Sons of Al-Jiftlik Agricultural Cooperative Association has 25 members and specializes in producing and marketing dates for local and external markets. Collectively, its members cultivate more than 1,000 dunums of Medjool and other date varieties.
PalVision supported the association by providing a palm-frond shredding machine. The machine enables farmers to process fronds left after pruning and reuse them as organic fertilizer on agricultural land or within palm plantations, instead of burning them. This helps reduce agricultural waste, prevent open burning, and promote environmentally sustainable farming practices.
The association also received a date-palm pollination machine that enables workers to carry out pollination from ground level. This improves the efficiency of the process while significantly reducing the occupational risks associated with working on palm trees that can reach approximately 8 to 12 metres in height.
PalVision also provided training in business development, green transformation, decent work, and marketing, strengthening the association’s technical and managerial capacities.
