Al-Duyuk Agricultural Cooperative Association

Al-Duyuk Agricultural Cooperative Association was established in 2005 in Al-Duyuk, Jericho Governorate, through an initiative led by a group of women and men farmers seeking to bring their ideas and efforts together within a legally registered cooperative.

The association currently has 20 members, including 14 women and six young men. It has a governing body and a supervisory committee, with women constituting the majority of their members. The association has its own premises and is the only agricultural cooperative in the village.

Women’s economic empowerment is a central focus of the association’s work. It seeks to create alternative employment opportunities for women, reduce their reliance on employment in Israeli settlements, and help improve their households’ economic conditions, particularly amid the current challenges.

The association operates a beekeeping and honey-production project specializing in natural Sidr honey produced without added sugar. The honey is tested by the Ministry of Agriculture through laboratories at Birzeit University, with results consistently classifying it as Extra Grade.

PalVision supported the association by establishing a dedicated room at the honey-production site. The space serves as a changing room for female workers and as a storage area for tools and equipment. The support also included smart beehives, honey-processing and packaging equipment, and specialized beekeeping tools. These interventions helped improve the association’s production capacity, operational efficiency, and revenues.

PalVision also provided training in business development, green transformation, decent work, and marketing.
