Campaign Description

“Huwiyeh” Campaign – Together to Strengthen Palestinian Identity and Celebrate a National Day for Palestinian Dress

The “Huwiyeh” (Identity) campaign is a community-driven initiative that seeks to raise public awareness of the collective Palestinian identity shared by all Palestinians worldwide.

The Palestinian Vision Organization implemented the “Huwiyeh” campaign as part of the Himam Project, which aims to support Jerusalemite youth and enhance their advocacy skills. The project focuses on building community leadership, defending political, social, and economic rights guaranteed by international humanitarian law, and empowering young people to play an active role in driving positive change within their communities.

As part of this project, the participating youth chose to make the question of Palestinian identity their guiding principle. They explored the elements of identity they wanted to strengthen and nurture a deeper sense of belonging to. Out of this process, they established three campaigns centered on different dimensions of Palestinian identity: the traditional Palestinian dress, Palestinian cuisine, and the Palestinian dialect.
