“Jalad” Campaign – Strengthening Awareness of Civil Society Institutions in Jerusalem

The “Jalad” campaign was a community initiative aimed at raising public awareness about the functioning of Palestinian civil society institutions and exploring ways to improve their reality in Jerusalem.

As part of the “Sijal” Project, the campaign sought to support Jerusalemite youth by building their advocacy skills, enhancing their capacity for community leadership, and empowering them to defend the political, social, and economic rights guaranteed under international humanitarian law. The project equips young people to play a meaningful role in driving positive change within their communities.

Within this framework, the participating youth chose to focus on the role of Palestinian civil society institutions as a priority issue. They collected information from various organizations and associations in Jerusalem, dividing their work across several key areas: donor agendas and funding policies, institutional structures, mechanisms of accountability and transparency, and the importance of maintaining a national discourse within the work of Palestinian civil society institutions.
