Palestinian Vision is pleased to announce the conclusion of the Short Film Production Training, implemented under the “Numo” Program in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The training aimed to empower adolescent girls and boys and strengthen their presence as content creators who are able to express issues that matter to them through creative and contemporary forms of storytelling.
The training targeted 36 adolescents aged 12 to 17 and was implemented in two locations: Al Issawiya, in cooperation with One Hand Association, and Al Ram, in partnership with Sunflower Centre.
Over 20 training hours delivered through five interactive and practical sessions, participants went through a full filmmaking experience, moving from idea to screen. They learned how to develop concepts, build visual narratives, write scripts, and apply key filmmaking techniques, including cinematography, camera angles and movement, lighting, and sound. The training also included intensive hands on practice using professional filming equipment alongside smartphones, while introducing artificial intelligence tools as a supportive resource for developing visual elements, in line with the rapid shifts taking place in filmmaking and digital production.
The training was distinguished by its focus on adolescents’ issues and everyday realities. Participants developed and produced short films based on visual storytelling, reflecting their experiences and aspirations and addressing topics that are relevant to their age group. This contributed to strengthening their critical awareness and their ability to communicate meaningful messages through image and film.
The training concluded with the production of six short films. Two films were fully produced by the participants, while four others were developed using artificial intelligence tools. Together, the films reflected the participants’ progress in filming, scene building, and communicating visual messages through a creative and contemporary approach.
This training comes as part of Palestinian Vision’s ongoing efforts to empower adolescents and provide safe, stimulating spaces for creativity, allowing them to express themselves and tell their own stories.
