Jenin – The Palestinian Vision Organization, in cooperation with Sinnara Association – the Pioneering Employment Network, has launched a specialized training course entitled “Development and Qualification of Agricultural Engineers in the Field of Agricultural Insurance.” The course is implemented within the activities of the “Jusoor II” program and supported by F4J Careerz partners, with the aim of enhancing employment opportunities for Palestinian youth and reducing graduate unemployment.
The course seeks to build the capacities of agricultural engineers in understanding agricultural insurance as one of the modern tools for risk management in the agricultural sector. This contributes to the sustainability of plant and animal production and strengthens farmers’ ability to protect their investments and deal with potential losses in a professional manner.
This training comes as part of the Palestinian Vision Organization and its partners’ approach to investing in the agricultural workforce, and to bridging the existing gap between the agricultural and insurance sectors by preparing qualified agricultural engineers in the field of agricultural insurance. It is based on a training approach that combines life skills with specialized technical skills in response to labor market needs.
The course runs for three months and includes both theoretical and practical training to equip participants with the knowledge and experience necessary to apply agricultural insurance concepts in the field, monitor the risks faced by farmers, and propose suitable insurance solutions. The program also plans to expand in the future to target a larger number of agricultural engineers and farmers in different governorates, thereby contributing to building a more resilient and sustainable agricultural sector.
In a related context, the Palestinian Vision Organization is preparing to launch a package of other training programs within the “Jusoor II” program, in fields such as jewelry design, operation of smart production lines, and vocational training in the electricity sector. These programs aim to open new career pathways for Palestinian youth and increase their chances of accessing decent work opportunities.
It is worth noting that the Palestinian Youth Employment Program F4J Careerz constitutes the second phase of the F4J Development Impact Bond, which is based on results-based financing. The program is implemented by Finance for Jobs Consulting Services Company, with funding from the Palestine Investment Fund and the Chile Palestine Investment Fund “Olive Seeds,” while the World Bank finances the sustainable employment outcomes achieved through the “Finance for Jobs” (F4J) project, implemented by Development Alternatives Inc. (DAI Global) on behalf of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.
