Palestinian Vision Organization concluded six “My Father and I” football tournaments, bringing together nearly 500 children and their fathers. The tournaments were held under the “Salalem” project, implemented in partnership with Save the Children and in cooperation with grassroots organizations in Jerusalem, Ramallah, Tulkarm, and Nablus governorates.
The tournaments created a shared space for fathers and children to connect through play, teamwork, and friendly competition, while strengthening family relationships and giving children an opportunity to express themselves and relieve stress through purposeful recreational activities.
Khaldoun Osaideh, who participated in one of the tournaments with his son, said: “The idea was wonderful and unique. It brought fathers and children closer together and strengthened family bonds. After the tournament, we had a long conversation at home as a family, and the activity left a very positive impact on all of us.”
Another participant, Mohammad Shtayyeh, reflected on the experience: “During the tournament, I realized that the best part was not winning or losing, but the moments we shared together. I could see the joy of participation in my children’s eyes, and I felt that I had grown closer to them.”
This marks the third year that PalVision has organized the “My Father and I” tournaments. The initiative forms part of a wider range of activities implemented through the Salalem project to combine learning and recreation while strengthening relationships within families.
