In an atmosphere filled with energy and creativity, a short film screening day was organized under the “Numu” project, implemented by Palestinian Vision in partnership with UNFPA and with the support of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. The activity took place at One Hand Association for Al Issawiya, where two short films produced by young participants from the association were screened as part of the training.
The films reflected elements of adolescents’ daily realities and addressed social and human issues close to their experiences, most notably bullying and its psychological and social impact, as well as questions of identity and self discovery. Presented through a simple yet meaningful visual language, the films revealed a sincere creative sense and the participants’ ability to transform personal experiences into compelling narratives.
The screening created a lively and interactive dialogue space that brought together the participants and their families. It was not merely a film viewing, but an entry point for broader discussion around the messages carried by the films and the questions they raised about reality and its challenges. This interaction added an important human dimension and further strengthened the value of the experience.
The session also highlighted the growing role of art as a safe space for expression and as a powerful tool for reading reality through a language that is closer to people and more capable of reaching them, beyond traditional forms of communication.
This experience stands as a reminder that giving adolescents the space to express themselves and produce their own work does not only result in artistic outputs; it opens a genuine window for deeper understanding of the self and society, transforming individual voices into a collective impact with wider presence and reach.
