The Ministry of Labour and Palestinian Vision signed a memorandum of cooperation as part of the implementation of the Employment and Livelihoods Support Project. The partnership aims to expand employment opportunities and support groups most affected by the Palestinian labour market crisis, including youth, women, and persons with disabilities.
This cooperation comes within broader national efforts to strengthen partnerships, expand access to employment, and reduce unemployment by developing practical interventions that respond to the needs of the Palestinian labour market and contribute to strengthening citizens’ economic resilience amid the current challenges.
The three-year project will be implemented through two main tracks:
▫️ Cash-for-Work Programme, which provides short-term employment opportunities.
▫️ Private Sector Employment Support, which facilitates job placements, alongside market-oriented vocational training and professional qualification.
The project also includes a range of employment support components, including vocational training, career guidance and counselling, awareness on labour rights and occupational safety, and the development of life and professional skills. These components aim to improve access to decent work and strengthen the economic and social empowerment of the targeted groups.
Minister of Labour Dr. Enas Attari emphasized the importance of this cooperation in supporting citizens’ resilience and investing in Palestinian human capital. She noted that the Ministry will facilitate access to the targeted groups through Local Employment Councils, contribute to the nomination of beneficiaries, and follow up on the project’s field implementation to ensure the intended impact and promote fairness and equal opportunities.
For its part, Palestinian Vision stated that the project seeks to support livelihoods and improve access to decent work, particularly for marginalized and highly affected groups, through employment and training programmes that respond to the needs of the Palestinian labour market.
