Create Hope in Jerusalem is a project that was designed to support and develop youth entrepreneurs in opening their own businesses in Jerusalem. It was funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, The Islamic Development Bank, PalVision Organization, and in partnership with Taawon Foundation.
The project seeks to promote leadership among youth in Jerusalem. During the project, 6 groups consist of 15 young Jerusalemites were formed. Each group has had their capacity built through a 52-hour training course focused on different subjects/topics to generate entrepreneurial ideas. In addition the training worked on developing their business plans for their projects through adopting the International Labor Organization (ILO) approach called “Start Your Business” in which PalVision is a partner in the program and accredited to the ILO in the implementation of this curriculum in Jerusalem.
In the second phase, 36 participants out of the total 90 participants were financially supported by seed funding and mentorship on financial, marketing and administrative levels in order to ensure the achievement of their projects’ implementation processes. In this context, the selection process of the winning projects was based on the evaluation of a panel of judges in accordance with predefined criteria
