Emergency response In Jerusalem and the West Bank

Palestinian Vision Organization has developed the Jerusalem Emergency Committee project in
response to the emergency situation that arose after the events of October 2023. These events
included restrictions on the movement of people to and from the Old City of Jerusalem, resulting
in economic repercussions for the residents of the area, including families losing their jobs and
traders suffering due to decreased movement and fear of entering the Old City. The project
aims to establish youth emergency committees and enhance their capabilities to provide
support within the Old City of Jerusalem, ensuring the continuity of their work through a training
program implemented by project partners. Palestinian Vision has carried out several activities,
including providing 44 kits containing personal hygiene products for 44 beneficiaries in
Jerusalem, providing financial assistance to over 300 workers from Gaza stranded in the
outskirts of Jerusalem and the West Bank, assisting more than 1,340 needy families affected in
Jerusalem and the West Bank, including in the camps of Tulkarm and Jenin. Additionally,
numerous training sessions were conducted within the Old City of Jerusalem, including 8
training sessions for 80 beneficiaries from emergency committees in the fields of civil defense,
first aid, personal skills, and initial psychological first aid. Palestinian Vision also provided 120
food parcels for 120 needy families in the Jordan Valley, distributed 420 training suites to Gaza
workers trapped in Qalqilya since October 7th, and supported over 5 schools in the Jordan
Valley with basic educational materials such as stationery and whiteboards.
