This position paper analyzes how Israeli policies seek to erase the Arab Palestinian narrative of Jerusalem by reshaping the city’s public space, renaming places, and restructuring tourism routes and imagery. It explores the potential role of the Palestinian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in safeguarding Jerusalem’s historical identity and promoting a Palestinian-led tourism vision. The paper presents policy recommendations and avenues for cooperation with the Ministry of Education, civil society organizations, and the private sector to ensure that tourism reflects the city’s authentic cultural, religious, and historical diversity.
