As part of a visit by a delegation from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the delegation toured a group of women-led projects implemented in partnership with Palestinian Vision in Jericho Governorate. The visit aimed to explore practical models that strengthen women’s presence in the agricultural sector and improve production quality through supportive solutions and interventions.
The visit included a field tour in Jericho, where the delegation learned about projects led by women in agriculture, production, and food processing, and observed the impact of the support provided in increasing productivity and upgrading work tools.
Among the projects visited was Khadija Basharat’s project, a successful initiative cultivating hanging strawberries inside a 650 m² greenhouse. The project is known for its high-quality, productive output, as the hanging system enables more than double the yield compared to open-field farming. Support included the installation of a drip irrigation system.
The delegation also visited Raghda Masa’id’s vegetable cultivation project on a one-dunum plot. As part of the project’s ongoing efforts to improve and enhance production quality, a greenhouse suitable for the plot was provided, along with support covering part of the greenhouse cost.
The visit also included Haneen Nujoum’s project, which specializes in producing moringa tea, moringa honey, natural creams, and soap. The project stands out for the quality of its products and its specialization in moringa honey, which is relatively scarce in the local market. Support included providing a tea packaging machine.
Palestinian Vision affirmed that these projects fall within its direction to support women-led productive initiatives and strengthen their capacities in agriculture, particularly in the Jordan Valley, in ways that enhance sustainability, improve production quality, and create more stable economic opportunities.
