Palestinian Vision Organization, in partnership with Oxfam, is implementing “Jobs and Green TVET for young people in Occupied Palestinian Territory” project in the Jordan Valley areas of the West Bank. The project aims to contribute to the economic support and empowerment of Palestinian youth of both genders by enhancing their capacities in life, administrative, and technical skills related to agricultural and tourism business activities. These skills are aligned with the requirements of the labor market.
In 2023, the Palvision successfully built the capacities of 38 young men and women aged 18-29 in the governorates of Jericho and Tubas. They received a series of technical and practical training sessions in the care of date palm trees and date production, as well as best practices in irrigated vegetable cultivation. These skills are essential for the agricultural labor market in the Jordan Valley. The goal was to facilitate their employment in private agricultural companies. After completing the training, 16 participants were successfully employed and connected with private agricultural companies.
Within the same project context, Palestinian Vision developed two field studies. The first study focuses on examining vocational training curricula and their alignment with market needs and green technology. The second revolves around crafting a strategic plan to emphasize the importance of vocational training and education centers in providing green job opportunities.
