The Himaya project aims to raise awareness among Bedouin communities about the dangers of landmines and how to prevent related accidents. The project focused on training 40 volunteers from the Tubas and Hebron governorates, in addition to developing a comprehensive training guide to help volunteers effectively spread awareness in these areas.
Key Activities
- Workshops: Conducted 27 workshops targeting children, women, and youth to increase their awareness of landmine risks and safe handling practices.
- Field Visits: Carried out 107 field visits to households in Bedouin areas, providing direct awareness sessions and preventive guidance to families.
- Awareness Materials: Produced 2 awareness videos and 10 posters explaining the dangers of landmines and prevention methods, effectively spreading the message through various media channels.
- Referral System: Developed a referral system to support affected individuals and provide immediate assistance.
The Himaya project was implemented in partnership with the Palestinian Mine Action Center and with the support of the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS).
