It was designed to generate dialogue and create communication between Palestinian citizens and the decision makers who are responsible for providing public services. The project aimed to increase the responsiveness of local authorities towards the needs of their citizens, thereby promoting civic engagement and accountability.
PalVision implemented Tajaawob as part of a union that includes the Coalition for Accountability and Integrity “Aman”, Miftah, the British Council, BBC Media Action and Oxfam GB, funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID).
The project worked on building the capacity of citizens to advocate for their rights, and conducted training in civil participation, citizenship, advocacy campaigning and media. Also, 13 local community representative committees with over 250 members have been established, in which they were taught to use both social and traditional media to communicate with authorities and wider communities around them.
