Signing Grant Agreements with 12 Community–Based Organizations

As part of the “Fanar” project which is implemented by PalVision, and funded by the European Union, in partnership with Al Rozana Association, Jerusalem Tourism Cluster, and Youth without borders, PalVision signed grant agreements yesterday that included 12 CBOs in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

“Fanar” aims to support and empower a group of cultural and community organizations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and members of the Palestinian Tourism Associations Network, and to enhance communication between them in order to contribute to and institutionalize internal work, improving the level of participation in the decision-making process at the local and national levels and empowering the targeted group of organizations to be more transparent, accountable, and able to hold the main actors and decision-makers accountable regarding cultural and tourism rights.

It is stated that organizations went through several stages before being selected, as they received intensive training in project management, which lasted for three months, with 170 training hours distributed over 32 training sessions, and those trainings were implemented by the Palestinian Vision Organization’s team, they dealt with several themes, the most evident were drawing community maps, preparing reports, assessing needs, and managing grants.

After the end of the first phase, 15 out of 20 organizations submitted project proposals to the Palestinian Vision, all of which were evaluated according to clear and highly transparent criteria.

As a result, 12 CBOs were selected from several different regions, and they are:

Artlab Organization– Sheikh Jarrah, The African Community Society in Jerusalem, Community Development Step Association–  Arraba, Jenin, Rowan Child Development Association– West Bani Zaid-Ramallah, Al-Dhahiriya Women’s Charity Association, Barbara Women Association, Birzeit Women Charitable Society, Aboud Youth Club, Women’s Center– Beit Surik, Jerusalemite Youth Cultural Forum– Silwan, Samou’ women Club.

Rami Nasser Eldin -The Executive Director of the Palestinian Vision Organization- emphasized the importance of this kind of intensive work that seeks to support CBOs and various associations across the country, confirming that these partnerships strengthen the relationship between the various organizations and help build a healthy relationship that helps ensure the progress of work and its sustainability.
