During April and May, the Coordinating Committee implemented joint activities aimed at protecting children and providing them with the best services. The member organizations collaborated to conduct an open day in the Shuafat Refugee Camp, targeting more than 100 children. The children were divided into four different stations (a physical activity station with outdoor games, artistic stations such as expressive drawing and creating a clay painting, and a musical station). Additionally, two digital safety workshops were held in cooperation with Hamleh center, one of the Coordinating Committee members, and with the collaboration of the other members via Zoom, targeting 50 children. The digital safety workshops aimed to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to protect themselves while using the internet.
Due to the urgent need for legal awareness related to the detention of children, six workshops were conducted in cooperation with the Mada Center, hosted by the Coordinating Committee CBOs, targeting 45 children and 54 parents.
In May, three music workshops for children were held, as musical instruments are considered a safe and effective means for children to express their emotions and reduce their stress and anxiety. The workshops targeted 100 children.
The Coordination committee continued to use the referral system website “Aoun” to transfer cases through it. This system was designed and developed to transfer cases between the Coordinating Committee organizations in East Jerusalem to ensure that children receive comprehensive and diverse services.
